Description- THEATRE – S/he (Multilingual/60mins) by Ilhaam Collective. Dir. Aditee Biswas. Music: Brenon Denfer; Choreography: Aseng Borang; Performance text: Priyanka Pathak. Taking off from the story of Arjun and Chitrangada, based on Rabindranath Tagore’s dance drama Chitra, this performance looks at the journey that a woman takes, to find herself. It examines whether Chitrangada’s choice to change into an “effeminate” woman, gentle and beautiful, from being a “masculine” warrior princess, was her own, or was a result of societal conditioning. A Dance Theatre piece, the performance uses elements from Odissi, Manipuri, Rabindrik and Contemporary Western dance and explores the question of agency that a woman has over her body. Tickets at Rs.200, 350 & 500 available online and at the Programmes Desk, Habitat World, IHC. An Old World Culture Presentation
