Description- Self-expression can take many a form and art is one of them. While acting as a medium of expression for an artist, art also becomes a mirror of its times. It is this artistic expression that we at Sahitya Kala Parishad want to encourage and boost.

VAMA-The Women Art Exhibition at Shridharani Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam is another edition in our endeavor to provide platforms to artists in varied art forms, be it music, dance or folk art. Besides the objective of promoting art, this all-women exhibition carries forward another significant motive – that of paying honor to women artists.

‘Vama’, is bringing together 15 female art practitioners on one single platform. The participants in this beautiful exposition include veteran artists like Anjolie Ela Menon & Gogi Saroj Pal as well as prominent artists like Kavita Jaiswal, Kristine Michael, Madhur Sen, Rajnish Kaur, Rashmi Khurana, Sabia, Seema Kohli, Shama Maira, Shelly Jyoti, Shirley Bhatnagar, Surinder Kaur, Vasundhara Tewari Broota and Vinita Dasgupta.

For young artists who get to share a platform with seniors in their field, this is a unique opportunity to seek inspiration and display their creativity. I am sure for young students of art and budding artists who dream of a career in contemporary art, this exhibition will be a source of inspiration and enrichment.

There is no dearth of creativity in India. Young talent in every nook and corner of the country is waiting for opportunities to burst out of its shell. We are highly grateful to Honorable Dy. Chief Minister, Delhi, Shri Manish Sisodia for accepting our invitation and blessing the artists who are displaying their talent at the exhibition on 14th March 2018 at 6. 30 pm.
