Description- Phoolon Ke Rang Se: Recipes for Sustainable Textiles Workshop” on 25 & 26th Nov 2017. We are happy that last time participants could raise the bar and learn many meaningful things, but the Edition-3 workshop will have Indigo Natural Dyeing as one of the major attractions for the workshop besides new recipe of colors.

Today, Sustainability has become a grave concern for the world, and carbon footprint has become imperative for producing anything that can cause a long-term damage to the planet. India for years have played a significant role in textiles, using limited & local resources, non-polluting the environment through natural dyes, re-use of textiles for responsible consumption and secret recipes that has originated from plants making these textiles survive for ages. To develop sustainable textiles, the 2-day Natural Dye workshop would focus of innovative ideas where the various colors and shades through Natural Dyes (including dyes made of flowers) can be made, this season’s special edition is Natural Indigo Dyeing (which is a rare attribute in Delhi) for the fashion & textile lovers, who can create various shades and design through understanding the Blue-Hues. Natural yarns would also be dyed with organic natural colors such as Kusum Ke Phool (Flowers), Harsingar Ke Phool (Flowers), Manjistha, Tea, Geru (Terracotta), and other natural ingredients. These will be washed, treated to achieve the exact color recipe for various tints and shades. Today sustainability and Carbon footprints are two-sides of the coin being added to measure the efficiency of the products produced world-wide, learning NaturalDyeing would be certainly a great asset in adding plethora of new knowledge going forward.

The workshop is as usual hands on and practical in its delivery, with actually working on achieving color recipes on fabrics/textiles, besides getting inputs on how to develop different colors through natural dyes. The weather is also great to support the outdoor dyeing activity, we hope you would have enrolled for the workshop
