Kya Dilli Kya Lahore by Varchasva Theatre
January 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Description- The relationship between India and Pakistan has always been a tense one. But when we talk about the tension between the two nations at the border, it is a completely different story. The daily violation of the ceasefire agreement over the border is one of the things that we get to hear. But is that really the true picture? Is that really what happens along the border? Kya Dilli Kya Lahore!! is a drama with pinches of comedy and satire. It narrates an unimaginable and unique story of friendship of two soldiers across the border. Despite the two being from two different nations, two nations that have always been rivals, they share a bond of friendship. The play takes the audience through the journey of the life of a soldier and his hardship, serving his country at the border, away from his family and loved ones. The play, in a very sweet way, is a satire on how people perceive the relationship between India and Pakistan. The two soldiers symbolically tell the audience that despite the rivalries and differences, the two nations are very similar and share a common history, a history of being one nation. But a war between the two countries is imminent and the two soldiers will have to enter the battleground sooner or later. Will they be able to fire at each other? Will their duty as army officers and their pride for their nation be more important or will their friendship be strong enough to not let them pull the trigger?
