Description- Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa is a set up of Bengal in the 1970s where the intellectual youth started a revolutionary movement for the betterment of the suppressed poverty-stricken community. The system labelled these young revolutionaries as a cancerous growth on the body of society. Thousands of young men and women between the age group of 16 to 24 were arrested and shot dead. Sujata did not know that her son, Vrati and his friends were also a part of this movement. In the pursuit to find out about Vrati, she meets Samu’s mother and Nandini.

As she delves deeper and deeper into Vrati’s former life she begins to understand her son’s struggle and revolutionary mentalities, which empower her to stand up for her personal conflicts against her husband and family. It is a realization as a family individual that form the heart of Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa.
