Walk along with St+art India foundation, a collective of street and graffiti artists, as they show you some of their vibrant and eye-catching work seen on the streets and walls in the neighbourhood of Lodhi. From colourfully elaborated typography to Bollywood murals, protest art to iconic mythologies, the varied styles on display offer something grasping for everyone.

Between 2015 and 2017, acclaimed international and national street artists worked on walls between Khanna market and Meherchand market to convert Lodhi colony into India’s first public art district. 29 murals were created, transforming this centrally located and pedestrian friendly neighbourhood into a democratic open air museum. The tour will cover all the works in Lodhi Art district providing insights into the festivals, a brief history of the colony, and backgrounds and contexts of the works along the way.

Making art truly democratic and for everyone, the St+Art India Foundation, a non-profit organisation works on art projects in public spaces. The aim of the foundation is to take art out of the conventional gallery space and planting it within the cities we live in.

These creations have insights that will be explored by Tanya Munjal, a student of Fashion media communication. She has an avid interest in art, culture and fashion and was the Project Manager for the Lodhi Art District project in 2016.
